Magnus'
Pressure Locked Grating
is the most popular class of grating supplied to South African
markets.
Pressure Locked Grating is engineered by pushing round bar into
pre-punched holes through the bearer bars and permanently
locking the round bar into place by a swaging process.
Pressure locked grating eliminates the need for any type of
welding to form the panels.
The
Magnus Group
can offer a
smooth or plain surface, serrated surface or non-slip
surface.
Pressure Locked Grating is available in the following stock panel sizes and can be supplied in Mild Steel, Galvanised, 3cr12 and Stainless Steel. Other sizes can be supplied and are made-to-order.
The
Magnus Group
operates under approximately 1500m² factory space and
have various teams in order to carry out
tailored grating
jobs to suit specific customer
requirements.
The
Magnus Group
is able to offer their customers any technical advice
that they may need before ordering in order to provide the correct fabricated grating job.
We pride ourselves in quality and have strict quality control procedures that we follow.
All
tailored grating
work is hard-stamped with a relevant drawing number on each panel in order to
do layouts as quickly and efficiently as possible when on site.
Once
Magnus
have completed certain stages of the
tailored grating
process, a layout is carried out to make sure all sizes are correct as per the drawings. Thereafter the
material can be sent for bitumin dipping or galvanising.
The Magnus Group is able to offer the following in the sizes the customer requires:
Longitudinal load bearer bar spanning between supports
Bar fixed at right angles to load bearer bars to provide lateral restraint
The distance centre-to-centre of load bearer bars, or the distance centre-to-centre of transverse bar
Bars of similar depth and thickness fixed to the edge of the grating
Overall length of grating measured in a direction parallel to the bearer bars
Bearer bar with a non-slip surface for increased skid resistance
Applies to tailored panels. A Cut-Out is an area where grating has been removed to permit structural members to pass through or to clear obstructions
Support frame usually made from angle iron which is fixed to concrete or steelwork around perimeter of grating
Also referred to as Toe Plate. Kick Plate is a larger form of flat bar which is welded around the edges of grating for tailored panels. Kickplate is usually 100mm above grating
Nosing is a member which is attached to the front of a stair tread or grating panel in order to prevent slipping
Top Mount Fixing Clip is used to fasten the fixing clip from the top of the grating
Bottom Mount Fixing Clip or Saddle Clamp is used to fasten the fixing clip from the bottom of the grating
